Meet Zen

Hello, my name is Zen…

I grew up in Connecticut with my parents and brother Tao and sister Chi, on over 100 acres of rural woodlands, and became very connected to Nature.

My parents, Mavis and Paul, fostered creativity and I went to Parsons School of Design, NYC and began my career as a fashion designer in fantastic New York City.

Now, I am an O.C. Southern Californian Mom of three young boys living in a beautiful suburb with my husband Todd.

However, I have a very full life and it used to take me 40-90 minutes to fall asleep at night! I couldn’t stop my mind from racing! But I did not want to take sleeping pills, put something on my face or have to remember to do something every night.

One night, I saw a news segment on a major network featuring a sleep study done in a clinical setting that proved that Lavender significantly reduced the amount of time it took for the patients to fall asleep and improved the quality of sleep!  As long as the insomniacs could smell the Lavender, it was naturally effective. That meant that mists, lotions and candles could relax a person and help them get to sleep but were not effective all night long.

I was doubtful but I decided to give gave Lavender a try. Sleep is, after all, not a luxury but a necessity!

I tried a bulky lavender sachet bag, but it was at the wrong end of the pillow and uncomfortable. Then I realized, that with my fashion design background, I could design a better sachet. It was so much fun. And it worked! It reduced the amount of time it takes me to fall asleep from 45-90 minutes to 5-10 minutes!

The Sleep Sachet has completely changed my life. I am much more well rested and I created this entire company because of it, in hopes of bringing a better nights sleep to more people in a natural way.

I later created the patent pending Lavender Lovey for babies, and the Aaah!Romatherapy Heating Heart. I hope you enjoy all of the Zen’s Purple Garden products that I have created along with the candles, lotions, soaps and bath products that I have found/developed in my search for restful sleep. My lotion and creme are Paraben Free and my bath products are dye, alchohol, synthetic fragrance and Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate Free. Together these all natural products can give you relaxation and peace of mind, body and soul!

I am committed to make a difference for the environment, and have created a goal of contributing to protect 100,00 acres of park lands per year. Growing up with the luxury of nature all around me and then moving to a more suburban city, and learning about the impact of our human actions on the environment and our human health,  has shown me the importance of caring for our public parks. Our parks are where nature is protected. This commitment, along with sharing the many benefits of lavender & natural care, is my driving passion.
